Jasmin Franchini, responsable for Sepp Baendereck’s collection.
My grandfather, an immigrant from the former Yugoslavia, was a successful plastic artist and publicist in Brazil. His early death in 1988 interrupted his fine arts career at its peak. Sepp was a pioneer in addressing ecological, indigenous and social issues in his canvases, portraying the beauty and destruction of nature.
The world has changed a lot but human dilemmas are the same. My wish is to show the importance of my grandfather's work, which remained distant from the public during the more than thirty years after his death. That’s why, with the help of my family, I have started the work of rescuing his work.
